DJ AM - Live At Moomba June 2002

So I basically tore my whole world apart looking for these for the past 48 hours. I finally found em at about 5am last night in the middle of a random spindle full of CD's.
I remember Adam burning copies for Shecky Green and I on a visit to LA. I can still hear him saying his classic quote "Aw man this set was wack... Why would you guys want this?"
Oddly enough it was one of the first times he had recorded himself live in a club.

The mixes are from June 2002 and it's him doing that thing he used to, all on Vinyl. The dope thing is that its the first 2 hrs of the night... So he gets pretty open with groovy shit for the first hour and it's perfect.
This mix was hugely inspirational for me and basically changed my whole approach to commercial club gigs. Just listening to it made me a better DJ. Hope it works for y'all too.
I really enjoyed rediscovering this.

Mike,

These mixes are fantastic. Thanks for digging them up! I have to say, hearing the vinyl is quite a pleasure. I think we all forget that sometimes. Keep 'em Comin' (Pause)

As Someone who has been hitting up the L.A. club scene heavily just in the past three years and an aspiring DJ. My two local favorites have always been u and AM. Thanks for this amazing mix. Carry the Torch!

So how was this done? On three turntables? Find it hard to believe that the whole Lauryn Hill part of the mix with the blend could have been done on 2 turntables with vinyl.. There was a third table right?

Thank you for this.

Ian... I assure you there were only 2 turntables. The Lauryn/Dennis Edwards blend may have been a bootleg.

Mike B - thanks a lot for these mixes. I, too, am having trouble with the zShare links, though I have them downloaded. Would you mind if I put the mixes on my server later this evening?

Hi Mike,

I've been dying to find these - keep hearing about AM pre-Serato, but the links aren't working for me. Are they still posted for DL?

Its amazing to see how many people he touched through his music, his recovery, and other aspects of his life. There will never be another Adam. I'm truly blessed to have had his existence overlap mine in the grand scheme of time & the universe. RIP AM.

A million thank you's for digging these out & uploading them to share Adam's awesomeness with the world. Fortunate as all hell to have spent time with him. He was instrumental in my own recovery, and for that I will eternally grateful - one day at a time.

Last night's service was inspiration, sobering & amusing. I was honored to be in that room with so many others he had blessed. My condolences on your loss. You, his other friends, & family are in my thoughts and prayers as much as he is. Thanks again, Mike.
